snowrocks is a suite of 5 spit-bite etchings by me, Betty Winkler, created from 2 copper plates (gray and blue). The suite was inspired by deep winter in the environs of the Rocky Mountains cabin/studio at Riverhouse Editions in Clark, Colorado, where I spent a month helping to print editions by Mary Weatherford. The white soft Hahnenmuhle paper - its texture, plate embossment and wide margins - is meant to evoke the softness of the snow.
